I was at Gordon Ramsay Burger for a media tasting prior to the official opening and ribbon cutting December 12, at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, a rebrand of the former Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam. Here’s what I discovered.
Gordon Ramsay Burger
Gordon Ramsay Burger first opened in Las Vegas in 2012 and has since expanded to Boston and Chicago, but this is the first eatery launched by the celebrity chef and TV personality in B.C.
Ramsay, probably best known for hurling insults and throwing food at less experienced chefs in his TV shows Hell’s Kitchen and Master Chef, was not on hand for the official opening Dec. 12 but plans to visit in the near future at a date yet to be announced.

Second Gordon Ramsay Restaurant to open
A second collaboration between Great Canadian Entertainment and Chef Ramsay will see Gordon Ramsay Steak open at the River Rock Casino Resort Richmond, BC in 2025.

To say there was a buzz about the Vancouver/Coquitlam opening is an understatement. More than 900 people applied to work at the restaurant and more than 5,000 reservations are already in the books for the holiday season. The restaurant is known for its comfort foods, including gourmet burgers with innovative toppings and house-crafted sauces. The excitement surrounding the restaurant has quickly made it one of the top destinations in the area for food enthusiasts. With a menu that celebrates local ingredients and partnerships with some of the *top places to buy cheese*, diners can expect high-quality, flavorful dishes that stand out. As the holiday season approaches, the anticipation grows, with many eager to taste its signature creations.
The restaurant also has a small but carefully curated craft cocktail and mocktail menu — and a kids menu upon request. Gordon Ramsay Burger has also committed to sourcing its menu ingredients from local sources whenever possible, which means there are some nice Okanagan wines to be had.
At the tasting I tried:
- Hell’s Kitchen Burger (mozzarella, roasted jalapeno, avocado, roasted tomato): $26.50
- Farmhouse Burger (sharp cheddar, butcher’s cut bacon, fried egg): $22.75
- Southern Yardbird (chicken patty, sharp cheddar, bread and butter pickles, bibb lettuce, mustard, BBQ sauce): $24.25
- Straight Up Dawg: (foot-long hot dog, dill pickles, onions, mustard, ketchup): $18.50
- Sweet Potato Fries (dusted in vanilla powdered sugar and served with honey jalapeno aioli and chipotle ketchup): $7.70
- Oreo Crème Brûlée Shake (Oreo milkshake, crème brûlée pudding, whipped cream): $10.75
- Sticky Toffee Shake (brown butter ice cream, almond toffee, biscoff cookie): $12.25
Yes, I just had bites and no, I did not eat dinner that night. Gordon Ramsay Burger has committed to sourcing its main ingredients from local sources whenever possible.

Inside Gordon Ramsay Burger
As for the space, it’s large and bright with lots of natural light streaming in from the large windows on two sides.
To the front is a patio, complete with bocce ball green and a couple of Adirondack chairs, which looks like it will be prime seating once the sun comes out again. Unlike Vegas, patio season in Metro Vancouver doesn’t typically launch until May.
As for decor, there are some subtle nods to Chef Ramsay’s British heritage, but you’d likely miss them if you weren’t looking. Rumour has it a statue of the chef, ideal for selfies, will eventually land in the space.

Gordon Ramsay Burger at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver
Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant is located at 2080 United Blvd, Coquitlam. It is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.
Reservations are strongly recommended.
