We were curious about the new Cascades Casino Delta, so took a short road trip from Vancouver to Delta, B.C., to check it out. And, because we’ve heard from others who are also curious about this new casino resort, decided to fill in some blanks for anyone considering a visit.

What to know about the new Cascade Casino Delta

With sunlight streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows of the lobby separating Cascades Casino Delta and Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Delta, the look is light and bright.

That sense of light continues into the hotel lobby and even into the casino, where traditionally dark and dim would be the look of the day. It’s a nice change and sends a message, this is not your grandmother’s casino — but, now that I think about it, maybe it is your grandmother’s casino, but one she can actually see in.

Even the carpeting in the casino is bright with colourful red, green, yellow and blue flowers and swirls, giving the room a contemporary, vintage look.

Cascades Casino Delta Gaming Action

With more than 500 slot machines, 18 live table games and the Diamond Area, where players can connect to live dealers via 24 play stations offering blackjack, roulette and baccarat, there’s no shortage of action and excitement at Cascades Casino Delta.

Where to eat at the Cascades Casino Delta

Depending on your mood — and hunger level — Cascades Casino Delta offers four options for eating. And, remember, Encore Rewards members receive discounts based on their player status.

Starbucks Grab ‘n Go

Just off the hotel’s lobby, the Starbucks Grab ‘n Go kiosk allows guests and casino patrons to do just as the name suggests, grab a snack and hot drink of their choice and get to that meeting, the airport or their favourite slot machine.

The Buffet at the Cascades Casino Delta

We’re not talking a Vegas-sized buffet when it comes to lunch, which is when I checked it out, but I understand the offerings are larger at dinner. Lunch and brunch cost $21.99, while dinner Monday to Friday runs at $26.99. Dinner on Friday to Sunday will cost you $29.99.

Call ahead or check the website for specialty themes, which include the prime rib dinner on Saturday nights. Tip: You can enjoy a plated breakfast in the buffet for under $10 between 7 and 10 a.m.

Match Eatery & Public House

We enjoyed a really great lunch at Match Eatery & Public House, which is known for doing pub food well. Match offers live music Friday and Saturday nights and there are plenty of TVs, so you can catch pretty much any game or fight you want. Happy Hour runs from 3-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to closing.

Summit Bar

Located within the heart of the casino, there’s no need to miss any of the action while refuelling at the Summit Bar with a cocktail and snack, including nachos, chicken wings and sliders.

Conference Centre at Cascades Casino

With 5,500 square-feet of space, the Conference Centre at Cascades Casino Delta offers the newest technology, bright and beautiful spaces, and professional planners to meet your every need, whether that’s a business conference or wedding.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Delta

The previous “Delta” hotel, which was named after its location and had been on the property for years, has been replaced by a real “Delta” hotel.

As part of the Delta Hotels by Marriott family, there’s an expectation of a higher level of service, amenities and 124 upscale guest rooms feature, including premium bedding and towels, the hotel chain has such a reputation for.

The hotel’s 24-hour fitness room is already welcoming guests, while the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are scheduled to open in April. Sévérine Spa and Wellness also recently opened.

A living wall in the lobby, made up of local ferns and moss, gives a nod to the Delta’s location, while the contemporary furnishings, including an burnt-umber coloured chaise lounge I really need to have, give it a sophisticated vibe. As well, the stunning light feature above the lobby is a true statement piece.

The hotel is attached to Cascades Casino Delta. Book accommodations at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Delta.

How to get to the Cascades Casino Delta and Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Delta

Location address: 6005, BC-17A, Delta, BC

I’ve heard comments this casino can be hard to find, so I’ll break it down here to make it as easy as possible to get there. The casino/hotel’s location makes it 20 minutes from Vancouver International Airport and 15 minutes from the B.C. Ferry’s Tsawwassen Terminal. Of course, time-of-day and traffic are also a consideration when it comes to estimating travel times.

  • If you’re travelling east on Highway 99, take the second exit after the George Massey Tunnel onto Highway BC-17A, but then take an immediate left. Drive over the overpass and then turn left onto 60 Avenue/Vasey Road. Look for the “Casino” sign directing you to turn left into the parking lot.
  • If you’re travelling west on Highway 99, turn right at Exit 13 (just before the George Massey Tunnel) and continue right onto BC-17A, then turn left onto 60 Avenue/Vasey Road. Look for the “Casino” sign directing you to turn left into the parking lot.
