Spring has arrived and fresh excitement comes at Maan Farms in Abbotsford. Maan Farms has quickly become one of our family’s favourite events and it keeps getting better with new additions every year.

Hop into spring with all the baby animals and creative treats you can imagine! The kids got a thrill from petting baby highland cows, sheep, and pigs and were so excited to hold bunnies and 3-day-old ducklings and chicks! They bounced to their hearts’ content and played in the Barnyard Adventureland which features a thrilling zipline, tractor pull and push carts.

The Tulip Forest provides lots of spring photo ops, including the adorable Mushroom House, Bee House, and butterflies. Kids can help the Easter Bunny find his coloured eggs to win a prize!

The adults earned themselves a fruit wine from Maan Farms Estate Winery on the patio while we enjoyed the famous butter chicken, pizza and kids’ meals.

There is an excellent selection of festive treats to enjoy on site or take home, including mini egg nests, mini lemon donuts, frozen strawberry lemonade, and Magical Tree ice cream with vanilla soft serve, chocolate trunk, sour apple cotton candy, and sprinkles.

Tip: Sign up to be a member by April 20 for $10 off and unlimited access to the Barnyard Adventureland during spring and fall! Make it a fun day outing to fully immerse yourself in the experience.

Easter and Spring Events at Maan Farms in Abbotsford

Maan Farms has several Easter and farm-themed new or revamped activities this year. With all the new offerings at the farm, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Tulip Forest

The Tulip Forest, which opened on April 5, is new this year. It is being billed as Canada’s First Tulip Forest, and it is super cute. Stroll among the vibrant blooms as you find the perfect spot to snap a dazzling spring photo.  Bright props are the perfect backdrop for a family photo shoot.

Baby Animal Spring Barn

More cute animals mean more adorable moments for the kiddies. Say hello to the Highland cows, sheep, goats, miniature ponies, and potbelly pigs. The ducklings, chicks and bunnies add to the charm. The kids were so thrilled to pet them all. See our video from the visit.

Mama Maan’s Country Kitchen

Mama Maan’s Country Kitchen brings two new seasonal treats: lemon mini donuts and carrot cake, a limited-edition wine called Flora, kid-friendly favourite entreés, gourmet pizzas, and signature dishes, such as butter chicken and chickpea curry bowls, classic Canadian poutine, and samosas. The gourmet pizza looked and smelled so good, but we didn’t have a chance to try it. It is definitely on our list for next time.

Bunnies & Booze – Adult Only

Bunnies & Booze is a 90s-themed adult-only event. Start with a “Hoppy Hour” glass of wine or beer, a selection of appetizers and dinner items by Mama Maan’s Kitchen. Later, participate in Easter-themed games and the Easter Egg Hunt to win prizes.

Goat Yoga and Goat Therapy Experiences

Being a busy mom, I have yet to try this, but will make an effort for my “me time” soon. Connecting with animals in a beautiful rural setting for Goat Yoga and Goat Therapy will make it even easier to unwind and fully relax.

Remember to book in advance to save. Pricing varies for each experience and must be purchased for BAE Days, Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, Bunnies & Booze and Spring at the Farm.

When is Baby Animal Easter Days

April 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20. Everyone is welcome, including dogs, on April 6, 9, 14, 17, 23, 26, and 28.

The breakfast event is booked separately before BAE Days begins. Mingle with the Easter Bunny while having a pancake breakfast with berries, whipped cream and sausages.

Tip: Always dress appropriately because the weather is unpredictable at this time of year. It could be warm and sunny one moment, then chilly and wet the next. Fields can get muddy and slippery, so good waterproof footwear, such as rubber boots, should be worn. For the little ones, always be prepared with a change of clothing and maybe even a “muddy buddy” if you plan on spending the day. Socks are a must for the bounce pillows.

Another pro-tip is to bring a collapsible wagon or reusable bag if you plan on purchasing farm-fresh produce and other goodies while visiting—or for tired toddlers to ride in. It’s also smart to take wet wipes and hand sanitizer.
