Here are a few photo tips on how to take photos in Antelope Canyon with your smart phone.

There are two stunning slot canyons in the area to choose from, Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon, near Page, Arizona. Both of the canyons are on Navajo lands and can not be accessed without permission.

You will not be disappointed with the colorful, changing sandstone formations of rich earth tone shades of brown, creme, orange and crimson.

We used our iPhone inside Lower Antelope Canyon.

  • Flash is not allowed in the canyon.
  • Turn on your iPhone photo Chrome filter and you will be able to take an image as shown below.
  • Do not shoot directly into the light.
  • A photo permit is required if you plan to sell your images.

We did not have time on our tour to fully take advantage of our Canon 7D Mark II.

Special photography tours are available but sell out very quickly. Reservations are needed for all tours, all year. Check availability online.

If you are bring your DSLR, you need to protect it with a cover to avoid damage. Dust blown up from the sand can easily get inside a camera.

We bought our tour from Antelope Canyon Tours. The guide was excellent.
